If Im on a lease that was forged by the other applicant, how do I?
After one signs a lease, copies are made and distributed to all parties. Are you saying the other applicant forged your name AND your signature prior to copies being made? And you do currently live there, correct? As a landlord, we require all adult tenants residing in a unit to sign the lease. They are responsible jointly and severally. This way we can collect rent from any one of them should another one default. (The same is true of damages.) We will not let a person reside in the unit and not be on the lease. Thus if what you say is true (which I am having trouble believing), the property manager is not going to remove a resident from the lease and increase the owners risk. What they may do is require you to sign a new lease.
