Do both parties in a joint lease in Ontario need to sign the new?
If the joint Lease Agreement is signed by both the Lessees, and the terms and conditions specify that unless signed by both the Lessees no document will be valid and binding, then both must sign. However, if the terms and conditions specify that any one of the Lessees can sign any documents pertaining to the lease, then signing by one of the Lessees shall bind both the Lessees. If it is a new lease and the prospective Lessee is a third party (new), I wonder why any of the erstwhile joint Lessees are entitled or need to sign the new agreement between the property owner with the prospective Lessee.
